The main purpose of this award is to recognize and honor volunteers that set a standard for service, and are committed to make service a central part of their lives for the betterment of individuals and the community. Linking Opportunity now facilitates all volunteers to apply for this award, if they qualify and meet the requirements of volunteering hours earned over a consecutive 12-month period, or lifetime. Please visit the President's Volunteer Service Awards website for award criteria, details and eligibility requirements.
Volunteers registered with Linking Opportunity who meet these requirements and would like to apply for PVSA awards through Linking Opportunity should submit the following:
1. A cover letter with your name and home address, email address, school, school name and address, date of birth, age, Also indicate the award level you are applying for.
2. A record of volunteering activities and hours served, and the organization name.
3. A signed letter accompanied by a time-sheet from each organization on their official letterhead that verifies your volunteering hours.
4. All the above should be emailed together to us at awards@linkingopportunity.org. Or you can mail it in a single package to us at Linking Opportunity, PO Box 3034, Bellevue, WA 98009.
Once we receive all the documents, we will review your application. Once we verify the information, we will contact you. If you have qualified for the award, we will collect from you a nominal cost of the award package and shipping, which will be about $10 per award package. We will let you know the actual amount depending on your particular award level and package. We will then distribute the award to you.
